We really do love working on fresh CI’s… there is something special about creating that recognizable icon that communicates the essence of the business or entity which it represents. Here are some logos of CI’s we recently completed:

Here are some of the designs we did for the recent Powerade 2010 Football Academy.

The project included complete branding of the week long event held at Tuks Village in Pretoria. Designs included an event logo, posters in all shapes and sizes, large wall vinyls (up to 16 x 4 meters), stickers, billboards, perimeter boards for soccer fields, clothing branding, uniform design, television screens, a website, access cards, VIP cards signed by Bebeto (1994 FIFA World Cup™ Champion) and some very tight deadlines!

As soon as we manage to make time to prepare the rest of the files we will add a more comprehensive project entry to our portfolio on our website.

2010 FIFA World Cup™ fever hit South Africa in a big way and we at KarbonBlack Creative got a chance to get down and dirty and be a part of the action.

The Coca-Cola 2010 International Football Camp was held over a week at Tuks Village in Pretoria and hosted more than 300 participants from 17 different countries. Octagon approached KarbonBlack with the challenge of conceptualising and imagining all media pertaining to the camp. This included logo design, clothing design and branding, designing of banners, stickers, vinyls, access cards, certificates, posters, interfaces for television screens, a website, perimeter boards for fields amongst a long list of others…

We’re hoping to get some shots of these designs in action during the event but in the meantime you can wet your appetite here:

We were extremely excited when KarbonBlack Creative was approached to create a new face for the brand new Cheesekids website. What a privilege to be a part of something so special and noteworthy!

At KarbonBlack we have a real sense of accountability and feel that it is each and every South African’s responsibility to help in bringing about change… no matter how big or insignificant their part may seem. After all, it is the accumulative effect that is so important and necessary. The dashing new outfit the Cheesekids website now proudly shows off is our small and humble contribution.

Realising that this was no ordinary group of people set on achieving extraordinary goals we wanted to come up with something different, something that would shout: “WE’RE NOT JUST ANOTHER CHARITY ORGANISATION!”. We wanted the site to communicate that this is a movement… a Cheesekids revolution of sorts, and everyone should be a part of it.

It was important to us to carry through with the great work done on the corporate id by Dreamstation and that the site would not only visually create a sense of continuity throughout the brand but enhance it as well. Another crucial factor was that the site be extremely user friendly. Usability is a buzzword in the KarbonBlack office that never gets old so our first priority when it comes to designing sites is creating interfaces that function effortlessly. The last thing we want is for an important message like that of Cheesekids to get ‘lost in translation’.

It is a challenge to create a website that lives up to all these expectations and criteria but having being backed by SI Works we had all the confidence in the world that the technical side was taken care of. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Dreamstation and SI Works, both who are extremely capable forces in the creative industry.
